My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. There is no "cookie cutter" method that works for all students, because everyone learns and comprehends a little bit differently. I remain sensitive to that and patient with my students. I continued to study classical violin until about 16, when I became highly involved in choir and theater. I was selected for the Texas All State Mixed Chorus three years in a row. I also sang professionally for St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston for three years. At about this time I also began teaching myself piano, and have continued my growth on the instrument to this day. I attended the University of Houston initially as a Vocal performance major with a music scholarship but had become burnt out from the rigors of professional classical music training and performance.
