Besides piano, my other emphasis is composition. My senior project was a song cycle using texts from poems by Robert Frost and was scored for soprano, mezzo-soprano and piano.  I received my Bachelor’s degree from UC Davis in Music and Psychology in 2009. As an active member in the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), I have held numerous positions in the Yolo County Branch. I have recently finished my tenure as Branch President and in the past I have been Recording Secretary and Chair of the Composer's Today Program, a program designed to encourage student composers with an annual recital to showcase their original works. The choir has been actively performing since it's beginning in 2008. The group has given numerous concerts for charitable purposes, and is proud to have worked together with Serbian and NBA basketball legend, Vlade Divac in raising funds for his HOD foundation.      Chamber choir 'Istochnik' is scheduled to appear next on Feb. 21st, 2015 in San Marcos (CA) as a part of a programme honouring the Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine and their most impressive humanitarian work.  Read More

My teaching career began at age 18. I started with only two students, and have since grown to teaching at three studios with 23 students across all studios. My main focus with all of my students is to expose them to all that music can offer them. Not only is music scientifically proven to improve brain function (it literally makes you smarter), it also promotes important qualities in young students; being an instrumentalist helps you learn responsibility (taking care of an instrument), discipline (daily practice), and perseverance (continuing to play despite mistakes).
