I started teaching right after I graduated from Berklee. I have worked in studios , but have been self employed for the most part. It’s very rewarding and creative that way. I have played 3,000 performances in my career, which gives me a unique perspective on teaching. I have run rock camps as well. I prepped the singers, drums, bass, keyboards, and guitar players. They had a concert for the parents at the end of the camp. Read More

My methods would slightly vary on what goals the student is trying to achieve. However, all musicians must have a basic grasp of technique and fundamental skills in order to express music the way they would like to. Beginning with an overall assessment of technique is essential, and working to maintain and expand that level of proficiency is important for instrumentalists. After a routine has been established for warm ups and extension, I like to incorporate those skills into songs, pieces, or repertoire. Read More

I began playing piano and attending lessons at age 6 and began playing drums at age 11. I have consistently played in my middle and high school bands and have attended numerous Honor Bands and camps related to concert percussion. After I graduated high school, I began attending LSU to earn an Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, and performed with LSU Wind Ensemble and Tiger Marching Band. For beginners I like to start with just a few chords, something to get them going and playing and get excited. So many songs have two or three chords! By getting a few under the fingers we can start to learn songs and get dexterity and scales going a little later. Practice is something I can't stress enough. Get into the habit of practicing every day, even if its just for 20 minutes. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Keyboard
I began teaching voice as a school project when I was 14 years old and realized that I I loved it! From then on, I always kept my hand in teaching throughout my high school and college years. I started teaching full time, at which point I added piano and speaking to my repertoire. I have experience as a performing singer, session musician and actor and I I love helping my students get the most out their lessons, whether they simply want to learn their instrument to the best of their ability, or learn more about writing music and the industry. My approach is based largely on the intentions of the student. Beginner students will need a foundation to build on, that foundation will include singing, reading music, clapping rhythms, learning melodies, and free exploration for a fearless musical future. Older experienced students will be exposed to a More in depth view of the fundamental components of music, a particular group twelve crucial aspects that must work effortlessly in concert to create an impressionable musical experience.
