My performance and education career began as early as my freshman year of college. I have been fortunate to perform over 1,800 professional commitments in my career as well as teaching roughly 25 students. Some performance highlights of my career have been performing on four national tours, playing two contracts with the Hershey Park band, recording with different artists, and of course performing with the Marine Corps and the Air Force bands. My general course of action for students is to teach the essentials through the Faber book series. As well as learn songs and do theory/aural exercises from the Faber books, I like to use online music theory games for my students to practice skills like note identification. I also like to assign students songs outside from the Faber books that they know and love, to further fuel their passion for learning piano! Read More

For pianist lessons, I like to use the Piano Adventures book series for beginner students of any age. These are the books I used when I began taking lessons at the age of six, and I have found that they are a very productive tool in teaching students with a a variety of different backgrounds. For organ lessons, I like to use Hal Leonards First Organ Book, as it contains many pieces of music that target work on specific techniques from legato fingerings to proper pedal techniques. My teaching experience began right after college when I started my voice and piano studio in Ohio. I maintained a private voice and piano studio for several years until moving to the East Coast. My students participated in several recitals throughout the year and competed in area music competitions. For several years, I taught music in the public schools and at the university level.
