My studio of aspiring musicians of all ages strives for the motto I came up with as an alternative to the popular, yet technically impossible and anxiety-inducing Practice Makes Perfect. I am a dedicated professional singer in the DC Metro area, and I operate Hannahs Music Studio as a way to share what I have learned through my many years of music studies and performances. I started playing the piano about 25 years ago and I began teaching about12 years ago. I performed in many recitals and guild auditions as a student, and in college I began to perform at Open Mics, at weddings and then dinner music at restaurants. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. During my studies, I developed a love of folk music from around the world, and have found that it is a great teaching tool.
