I am professional musician with Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance and Music Education from Mykolaiv State Music College, and a Master Degree in Music Art from Mykolaiv National University, both located in Mykolaiv, Ukraine (UA). I was born and educated in Mykolaiv, UA, and speak Russian, Ukrainian and English languages. Music is my passion since I started learning at a very young age. I have been teaching for about 10 years, both privately and in schools. When I was at Indiana University, I tutored fellow music students who wanted to study piano, and I also began teaching privately. Since then, I have adjunct faculty at Seton Hall University, and I have taught privately. My students have ranged in age from 5 through adult, and I've taught all levels of experience. For children under the age of 6, I start with Music for Little Mozart, which is a fantastic introduction to music and piano playing. For children older than 6, I generally start with Bastion's Piano Basics because the music is very engaging and the music gradually increases in difficulty. I like to incorporate weekly and monthly goals into my lesson plans, and I focus on accomplishments rather than shortcomings. I often offer incentives for younger students to encourage regular practice. I provide constructive feedback after every lesson and encourage questions as I feel reciprocated communication opens opportunities for learning.
