For all my cello students, I start with 170 Foundation Studies and a modified Suzuki Method (Cello). Once my students reach Suzuki book 4, then they can start playing Bach Suites, and other intermediate repertoir. The Bach Suites, however, are what most of my cello students are interested in learning. For piano students, I use the Bastien piano series by Neil Kjos. I want my students to be interested and engaged, and coach them through basics while also trying to find pieces or genres they want to play. Read More

I helped students successfully prepare auditions for college, musical theatre productions, all-state choir, summer music programs, and more. I taught students in a wide variety of musical styles and skill levels. I was also able to sing in two professional choirs from 2010-2019. Piano: I enjoy the Alfred books as they explore the fundamentals of piano playing and provide tips for good habits. After having a good foundation for the fundamentals, I will move on to the Hanon book which explores technical exercises, scales, and arpeggios. Students will learn repertoire that will range from contemporary genres to classical genres. Organ: A piano background would be preferred. We also work on long-term pieces for festivals and recitals throughout the year if they are interested in playing for those. I strongly encourage them to participate in these, helping them to feel confident and secure in these performances.
