Currently, my teaching experience involves substituting for a drum class in one of the New York City boroughs, and assisting musicians or other campers when needed at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts when I worked there as a Music Staff Intern. I have worked with multiple teachers throughout my musical journey and experience, and I have since picked up the teaching styles and methods that they taught me. I now want to use my experience and what I have learned to help other students or aspiring musicians, and help show them how fun and enjoyable playing their respective instrument or instruments can be. I use the Adventure series books for all of my piano students, as well as outside literature. Read More

With beginning students, I will lay out all of the fundamentals, teaching all of the scales, basic chords, key signatures and time signatures, and gradually integrate strategies for reading music. Depending on what the student is interested in learning, I will pull from my pool of repertoire - we could be studying a Bach Invention at the same time as a Billy Joel song. Classical music is great for technique and in many ways textbook for teaching harmony, but I play and love contemporary music, and will teach anything, as long as there is some form of musical knowledge to be gained from the material. For all beginning students I start by having the student set a goal. Some goals past students have set are learning to improvise, learn a specific piece, prepare for a musical competition/performance, prepare for a college audition or be able to express themselves through there instrument. As long as you have a goal with your instrument I can help you achieve it. I create lesson plans based on the students level to help grasp and improve fundamentals, technique and sound. Read More
