I create lesson plans for students based off of their passions. If a younger child has never read music before, success is usually found in working with music that they are interested in. If a student is beginning to study improvisation a similar approach is used with styles of soloists that they are very familiar with. Learning must be fun and it must improve ones understanding of the subject at the same time if it is to be rewarding. Read More

I began performing solo and touring around Europe with a Jazz-Funk band, The Freeks. At the same time I began studying at the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz, Poland to finally move to Miami and graduate from Florida International Univeristy with BA in Music. I performed for Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line for 5 years, which included teaching piano classes for the Royal Caribbean Academy. I am a session studio musician and during the summertime I teach music production at one of the studios in Miami. Read More

My philosophy is if it isn't fun; nobody wants to do it. My method of teaching provides simple psycology in making praticing fun. The piano needs to be praticed every day if the student wants to progress! For Children I teach pop and classical piano, where as adults I try to find out why they want to play and what style of music they would like to play. Many adults don't desire to be a concert pianist but, If you'd like to play for fun; maybe play at a party to entertain your guests and you would like to play popular music; there's a class specialized for that. I am student-oriented teacher. I would like the student to explain their goals to me and we will work as a team to achieve those goals. This involves choosing the music to be studied. I have plenty of ideas for beginners who want help with choosing books. Then as lessons progress, student goals can be plugged I to instruction, no matter what music they are playing or singing. I encourage students to play for family and friends, and participate in music education events. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than having a student fall in love with music and playing it for themselves and others. It is important to me that each student not only progresses in skills and technique, but also gains a deeper love and understanding of music. I believe playing in a group with other like-minded musicians is essential for every musician. That is why I strongly encourage my students to join an orchestra, ensemble, band, or any other group that interests them. Read More

I started teaching 9 years ago. I really enjoy, and love seeing the progress with my students. Having fun is key. Learning to play an instrument or singing tends to quickly evolve as the students catches interest. Approaching the lessons from a natural and easy to understand method results into a second nature and a more excelling learning approach. Being able to learn a specific or different genres of music from Classical, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Contemporary Christian, Reggae, Latin etc is also a way to develop the student interest. Read More

When will I start to see results?
The amount of time in which a student will start seeing results depends on a few important factors. They are: 1. Student's dedication and amount of practice time. 2. Teacher's ability to present material, and to spark student's interest (which helps tremendously with point 1) 3. Frequency of lessons. You will see faster results (especially at the beginner's level) with twice-a-week lessons as opposed to once-a week lessons. Normally, first simple songs can be played (and read) by a beginner student withing the first few lessons, then difficulty of music pieces gradually increases and withing a few months a student would normally be able to play both hands simultaneously.

How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
You can start at any age, as soon as the child is ready for classes intellectually and psychologically. You can start with someone even at 4 years old, but sometimes it is better to wait and start classes at 7-8 or even 9 years old. Despite the fact that all children are different, there are still age-related features that somehow affect the educational process. For example, if a child begins to study at the age of 7, his education will advance faster and more efficiently than if he were to start at 4. It's a matter of every individual student and his/her ability. Booking a trial lesson and hearing an honest teacher's opining would give you a better idea about whether or not your child is ready for a lesson.

What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
When practicing piano fragments need to be repeated a many many times. But you must also alternate repetition with the allocation of time for the work of the subconscious. This means, ultimately, during a night's sleep. It is when your work begins to dream of you that you begin to memorize it. The dream is the result of this integrative work of the unconscious. This leads to an amazing practical consequence: In order to learn something in the most effective way, work on it with full concentration for a certain period of time (15 to 20 minutes is more than enough), and then forget about it until the next day. The next day, repeat the same procedure for the same period of time and forget again until the next day. Repeat this for as many days as necessary in order to play a given passage in such a way that you cannot play it incorrectly even if you try. I assure you that you will reach such a moment in a maximum of seven days, usually much less. This requires incredible discipline and consistency. But the method works like magic.
