I am a piano instructor that loves sharing my musical knowledge with students and watching them progress. I just recently graduated from the University of Alabama in early May with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance. I have been studying piano for almost twelve years. During my time as an undergraduate, I performed in recitals, taught private lessons to students, and accompanied for vocalists and instrumentalists. It is very important for students to grasp the fundamentals. For intermediate students, we would progress on a track and focus on what they had for goals. For beginning students, I use the first Essential Element book to introduce the first instrument and theory concepts. Once students have progressed past this book, I use the Tune a Day series along with the accompanying scale book. This book introduces students to solo and duet pieces worthy of a recital performance. Once they have reached the third book and are progressing through etudes, students begin working on individual solo repertoire pieces. Read More
