I feel that it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals and assignments for my students at each lesson. This measurable progression of accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Of course finding out the students problem areas is also paramount to helping them progress at the fastest rate possible. My education background is in civil engineering, so tend to be a hands-on, problem solving teacher. If a student has a weakness, I tend to focus on correcting the problem point and focus before moving on. I believe in consistent practice which fits within the confines of one's schedule.
