One of my professors Mike Lacopelli was the recording engineer for Parliament as well as ran live sound for Aretha Franklin for 8 years. Later in my college career I began playing synthesizer with a band and working for Delta States Studio. I began helping my friends work through their music when I was 19 at Missouri Western State University, and eventually cultivated a bustling studio of students through word of mouth. I now teach full time in Zoom and in person with house visits, or at my home studio. My teaching experience has been with my church choir. I started out as the accompanist and helper. A year or so later I found myself in the conductor's seat. For two years I worked with my church's choir to bring out the best that they could be, and to bring joy to the congregation. Not only did I conduct the choir, but I was their accompanist as well. For a young student, typically children, I would have to cover the fundamentals of music while applying it to piano or flute to help them learn the notes, clefs, time signatures, key signatures, etc. For my lesson plans, it changes from student to student as each student is different and has different needs they need to focus on to better their musical experience.
