I believe every student is different and therefore demands a different instruction style. Some students need a lot of encouragement and some students need more of a push. Through my training to become a music educator at Missouri State University, I gained experience in several different types of students and I am confident I can help a large variety of students. When I really take a deep look at what is happening when I teach, I realize that in the end the student is teaching him/herself. Each student is different from the other, so every lesson will be tailored to their skill level and wants. I like to set goals. Each lesson will end with realistic goal for the next lesson. The very first lesson will talk about long-term goals and as well as weekly goals so that it gives the students incentive to practice and work hard. Read More

For beginners, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for Strings. Read More
