Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I had my first job tutoring students at a turtoring facily for grades K-12 in my hometown. There I helped many students in an array of subjects. From this first job I was able to harness my abilty to teach students in their own tailored way. This job taught me how students learn diffrerently and you can't create a one-size fit all curriculum for every student. For high school-aged students interested in the classical method or those wishing to enter into solo/ensemble festival, I typically start with folk songs and the essential Italian Art Songs. For high school-aged students interested in musical theater and/or pop music, we try to find common ground on their musical interests and find pieces based on that. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My primary instrument is oboe. I have studied with several successful oboists and earned a master's degree in oboe performance from Bowling Green State University, studying with Dr. Nermis Mieses. While earning my degree I took lessons and participated in masterclasses with some of the most successful oboists in the country. I learned many things from these lessons, but most importantly I learned how to make my own oboe reeds. Read More

In my lessons, I will let the student pick the piece that they want to play, and we will work to perfect the piece that the student chooses.
