I currently teach music part-time at two Montessori elementary schools in the Southeast Valley which include after-school music classes and private lessons. I am the Worship Pastor at RPFChurch in Tempe, AZ where I play guitar and direct the worship team. I love to share my passion for music with every student and encourage them to enjoy playing their chosen instrument. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time. I encourage the student to see it , believe it and achieve all goals that can be set out to be accomplished. Practice on a daily basis is very necessary when gaining the passion for the chosen instrument. My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. I have been a member of the esteemed USAL and Arizona State University chorus and continue to volunteer for the Phoenix symphony and Arizona Opera. Love to perform solo as well as with my students or the local retirement communities, private venues, and am a member of Phoenix piano club. I've been playing keyboards since the age of ten. I graduated from Arizona State University where I studied music theory and composition. I have a special passion for composing music, and finished 3rd place nationally in the Music Teacher's National Composition Competition in 1987. As a professional musician, I've toured with The Fortunes, and performed with The Coasters and Ritchie Havens. I have just completed my third CD, titled Jazzed Up. I enjoy performing and teaching all styles of music including, classical, jazz, and pop, and love sharing my passion of music with my students. I believe that music instruction should not only be educational, but also enjoyable, exciting and rewarding. I graduated from Temple University in 2011 with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education.  I was a saxophone major, but I have also studied piano since the age of three.  I enjoy performing in musical pits, which is where I picked up the flute and the clarinet.  I am currently a choral teacher at the high school level, but I have previously taught in a K-8 school, as well as several years in a daycare setting with very young students.
