I have the equipment to get any student started (if they want to try a lesson or two before purchasing their instrument) and will come to your home. Read More

I like to direct students to play scales and etudes with drones that can be found online or from an app. and can offer many more helpful practice techniques. I can teach classical bass, piano, and cello, as well as pop/rock bass, piano, cello, or vocal performance. I also teach music composition, performing and arranging covers, and can coach any instrument for specific performances. Read More

I was truly fortunate to have already been equipped with a solid foundation of skills and knowledge when this epiphany ultimately propelled me to a life dedicated to music. Thanks to my parents and teachers foresight, tenacity, and years of patient guidance, I was ready to continue, finally in my own determination, my musical quest in the United States. Having realized my dream, I am passionate about helping my students fulfill their desires and make music a source of their joy and pleasure. Read More

Teaching is my passion! Currently I work as a teacher at Washington Japanese school and other music organization and am very comfortable to work for kids. I love to find their music talent and develop their piano skill and expression. I gained my piano skill by taking 12 year private lessons. My piano and Russian language skill enabled me to work with Russian musicians. Especially in 1996 I worked as an interpreter/assistant for Master class lessons by Prof. Read More

My love and passion for music extends even further into my love for teaching music to kids and adults of all ages and abilities. I am a recent graduate from Shepherd University, with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano performance, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I have had the opportunity to perform in a number of different settings, including as the pianist in the Shepherd University Community Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and Piano Ensemble. Instruments: Piano Voice
After finishing school, I began establishing my own studio. In addition to classical piano, I have received two years of collegiate-level vocal instruction. Singing has been a part of my life since a very young age--I believe singing is a wonderful form of musical expression and recommend it to enhance instrumentalists' understanding of phrasing. I also play guitar and have ample experience in contemporary keyboard from church settings. I hope to use all of this experience to provide a rounded music education to my students. Read More

Since I took my first piano lessons as a child, I've dedicated my life to learning as much as I can about music both inside and outside of school and spreading the joy to others. I have been performing consistently with groups since my teen years: first jazz combos, ensembles and University orchestras, and more recently rock and metal acts. I have extensive experience touring, and encourage students to draw on my knowledge as both a studio and live performer. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin
Why did you choose your primary instrument?
My mother and grandmother were concert pianists and Victor Borge a great uncle do music was always in my blood. I also chose the violin because I heard Isaac Stern with the Boston Symphony play the Brahms Violin Concerto when I was in sixth grade and I asked my parents why hearing it made me cry. I realized then there was beauty and feeling in music and it was something I knew I had to have and have been with ever since
What musical accomplishments are you most proud of?
The most important thing was right after my father died I had a chance to perform a solo at Carnegie Hall and it brought such happiness to my mother. Anther time was when I received an award from President Clinton for keeping children off drugs through music. I am also so proud of my students snd what they went on to accomplish
What do you think is the hardest thing to master on your instrument?
On violin it would be smoothness snd not to fear higher positions. On the piano not to be overwhelmed by the number of keys. Some young ones feel scared because they have such little fingers
Have any of your students won awards or been selected for special honors? How have they succeeded?
I have had students win scholarships to private school and colleges. Three students were chosen to perform at Disney World for a backtrack of music being recorded for a musical. Several have performed at the White House and several around the world. I am proud of them all actually.
Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
Yes. I had a teacher that was never mad even if I made a mistake and this was at the z conservatory level. Instead she would tell me to watch a particular finger or spend more time on a phrase but she was never angry.
When will I start to see results?
I ascertain that there is something positive at the first lesson. It might be as simple as how well the child sits at the piano or how nicely the child holds a bow. My lessons are all taught in a very positive way.
What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
It is not about the quantity of time you practice but the quality of time you do practice. A person that practiced two hours may not be practicing effectively while a person practicing only a half an hour might be practicing utilizing all corrections and style. Time does not mean quality.
How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
If he/she has an awareness of the particular instrument and requests to play. It is not what the parent wants but what the child wants. This is something I discuss with a parent before the first lesson
