For the youngest beginners, my focus is on the enjoyment of music. Using either The Music Tree or My First Piano Adventures, I teach children about the elements of music and how to appreciate music, before going into actual technical work on the piano. I like to encourage creativity in the studio; I don't push every student to have the same musical experiences. After moving to North Carolina she started a Baums Music school, were she teach piano to the class of 50 students. Her students knowledge evaluated through local and state festivals and competitions. Mayas students have won many prizes and rewords at the different levels. Maya was elected as a president of Raleigh Music Club and continues teaching out of a private home studio.
