I studied percussion primarily in college, but also studied voice and piano during my time at Baldwin Wallace. And once they have improved to the point where have the ability to learn songs they will be taught the songs they will love to play. I try to focus on the students interests as much as possible. Lastly, I use rythym training a lot with all my students. If it's not played in time, It's not music yet. We will work together to get it where it needs to be! I use real drum loops and other media for this. This dramatically increases the students feel for the pulse of the music.
