Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I began teaching piano and voice lessons in 1996 when I was a college student. I was trained to teach by the director of Studio 90 Music School in Massachusetts. I then went on to acquire my own students, and travelled around the greater Boston area teaching children and adults in their homes. I have also taught out of many local music stores. In 2009 I went back to school for Early Care and Education, which has greatly enhanced my skills and passion for teaching younger children. Read More

Each student has a unique voice to contribute to the world of music. As a teacher, I instill in my students a deeper love and understanding of music and the clarinet, guide them toward the achievement of their aspirations, and aid them in the discovery of their own distinctive voice through the development of confident self-directed learning, critical thinking, and healthy performance practices. I typically start beginning students with the Voxman Elementary Method book, supplementing these exercises with additional work on scales and fundamentals. Read More

For young learners, I teach using Nancy and Randal Faber's Piano Adventures. For adults, I use the all-in-one Faber adult book. However, as early as possible, I like to get outside of the book and get a student learning a song they love. When it comes to learning piano (especially in the beginning), fun is a critical ingredient for success. In my lessons, I work with students through a lesson book, on repertoire they are interested outside the lesson book, on technique, music theory, and anything a student is interested in or curious about. I started piano lessons in elementary school before discovering a passion for the guitar. Now, having earned a Music Theory degree from the prestigious Whitman College in Walla Walla, I celebrate my love of music through teaching as well as playing in the Spokane local group Mama Llama. With theory knowledge and years of practice in guitar, piano, voice, and bass, I landed roles in local Walla Walla opera productions and musicals and received the Campbell Music Scholarship before entering post-secondary education.
