I started singing recreationally of my own volition at age 5, coming up with improvised musicals in my parents' living room and filming them with my mom's camcorder. I took advanced choir classes in middle school and high school and was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for several rock bands throughout high school. Most of my students were beginners, and we worked together for over a year. I also play chamber music in various ensembles, and occasionally collaborate in world music settings such as flamenco and Latin music.
