I started singing recreationally of my own volition at age 5, coming up with improvised musicals in my parents' living room and filming them with my mom's camcorder. I took advanced choir classes in middle school and high school and was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for several rock bands throughout high school. I started playing the guitar and singing when I was nine years old when I received a Kmart guitar under the Christmas tree. I fell in love with it right away. I received a better guitar as a gift in my teens and wanted to learn all I could about the guitar and how to play it. I always create a safe, supportive environment where my students can learn to express themselves through singing effectively. I use the McClosky Technique that employs applied science to help my students to sing with complete relaxation and freedom applied to any style of singing.
