At Michigan State University, I taught undergraduate studio masterclasses and coached undergraduate chamber ensembles. I also worked for three years at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, where I taught private lessons, conducted clarinet and woodwind sectionals, and taught the Music Theory minor course (in addition to several non-music courses). At Iowa State University, I tutored for Introduction to Music Listening (as well as several non-music courses). I have maintained a private voice studio for over 38 years teaching adult singers, beginners to advanced and I've helped hundreds of people find their singing voice or overcome voice challenges as well as personal challenges. I created a Washington State 501(C)(3) nonprofit for amateur adult singers and actors that included 3 choirs, a vocal jazz ensemble, voice workshops, vocal jazz workshops, and a theatrical troupe. With my teaching style, I prefer to work on what the student has an interest in if they are old enough to know. There is no better feeling than to work with a student who is enjoying the study of the current material. I also enjoy teaching beginning composition and bringing out the music from within. I joined the touring progressive band Sirens on bass in February 2015, and am still currently playing with them. Shortly after joining Sirens we played the Indianapolis, IN date of The Vans Warped Tour. In October of 2015, I went on my first 50 date tour at the age of 19 with Sirens co-headlining with the instrumental band The Fine Constant. Sirens and I are currently endorsed by Ernie Ball and Music Man. After touring in 2015 I attended the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media where I studied contemporary and jazz music under Anthony East and Gary Wilkins. Read More

I'm a lifelong musician and grew up playing piano with my grandparents, who are both concert pianists and taught me how to play. I have my A.A. in music from Mt. San Jacinto C.C. and have studied under a number of great professional artists. I have been in a ZZ Top and Led Zeppelin tribute band, as well as a 00's and 10's rock cover band.
