When I teach teenagers or adults I usually start with Alred’s Basic Adult Piano Course Book, as well as a music theory book that is suited to the student. I like Alfred’s series for the young beginner as well, but have also used the Bastien series. For voice students I use a warm up book and a sight singing book. I assisted her younger students (ages 6-14) in employing effective practice methods to overcome difficult technical concepts encountered in their main lessons. Haeyoon is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music where she received Masters degree with a full scholarship under the Performance 20/20 program, a prestigious chamber-intensive program. She began her chamber studies soon after starting cello with her siblings and have performed in community events and ceremonies since. She is a winner of many competitions, including: the Regional Solo Ensemble Competition at the high school level, a series of first prizes at the Renton Young Artists Competition, the Marjorie Easley National Strings Competition, and the Individualis International Competition.
