I've been blessed to have a very diverse variety of music and teaching job experiences. I began teaching private lessons as a Middle School Music Mentor with the Lied Center for Performing arts for LPS students my first year of University. Since then, I've also worked as a Visual and Music Tech for Lincoln High School's marching band, judged the Links Marching Band Contest, worked as a substitute Para Educator in Special Education in the middle, high school, and vocational school settings, and was the Music Director for the 2014 Penguin Project production of Annie Jr., the winner of a Mayor's Arts Award for that year. For beginning students in piano, we will work from the Faber Series of books, working on getting comfortable with finding notes, and playing in proper rhythm against a steady beat. For more advanced piano students, we will work from whatever materials the student already has, and work to build their skills in a manner tailored to their individual needs. For beginning violin lessons, we will focus on understanding the fundamentals of controlling the violin and producing the best possible tone on the instrument while teaching students the fundamentals of rhythm and music reading. I’ve been playing drums for about 35 years. I’ve toured the entire US including some European countries. I’ve been on record labels, played many live shows of all types. I’ve also c-written songs, produced, engineered, and performed on quite a few successful albums. I started drumming in the 5th grade and continued through high school. I then starting focusing on performance and song writing. I joined some original bands and began building those songs and albums to make those bands successful. Read More

I like to give my students a steady diet of fundamentals, etudes, and solos. For the fundamentals of trumpet playing, I generally use the standard methods and etudes, such as Arban, Clarke, Schlossberg, and so on. There are many great etude books out there--some that I like to use are Bordogni, Hering, Brandt, and Vizzutti. As for solo repertoire, it depends on the interests and goals of the student. The standard classical repertoire is always good (Haydn, Hummel, Arutunian), but if a student is more interested in jazz or popular music, then I would focus on that. Read More

Jaime W is a sought-after vocalist, director, and private instructor. She specializes in vocal technique and artistry for intermediate and advanced singers. Ms. Jaime served as the Vocal Teaching Artist for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra where she conducted the 10th anniversary concert alongside the esteemed Marin Alsop. She also has served as voice faculty for studios across the country including the Athens Community Music School where she taught voice to non-majors for academic credit and at Sing Omaha Studios where she teaches voice and piano lessons to all levels of performers. I would always follow each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. For children, I would also offer a reward such as candy to boost their excitement and passion for learning piano.
