My passion for working with students started in high school. I was a long time counselor at my high school's summer day camp and acted as a leader to a group of kids from 2nd grade to 4th grade. In college that passion, combined with my passion for music, led me to major in music education. While at Willamette I helped middle schools and high schools in the community by serving as a percussion specialist running sectionals or coaching jazz rhythm sections. Read More

I encourage my students by setting realistic goals and proving homework after each lesson to perfect for the next lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to his or her learning style. Read More
