The Suzuki Method is particularly effective with children aged three to seven. A young childs aural capabilities are greatest in the early years of life, and therefore a method which relies heavily on aural stimulation is most suitable. Three and four year old children do not yet have the mental capacities to read music from a page, but are able to learn to play very well by rote. My method varies for every student but I have a very specific plan for each level of experience. Beginners would focus on essential elements books and beginner packets that cover basics and also have rewarding solo pieces. More advanced students would focus on scales and long tones with etudes for fundamentals and repertoire for solo playing and performances. I started performing music at age 14, and quickly move on to semi-pro and professional status, performing pop, rock, country, folk, and more in various bands and performing groups. After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Theater, I joined the cast of Up With People and began a world concert tour, performing on awesome stages, such as the Royal Albert Hall in London. My primary student base is ages 4-16. I also have several adult students where I teach advanced vocal performance. I have taught two different hour long group vocal classes twice a week, one for ages 3-6, and the other for 7-10 year olds. On average, I teach around 30 lessons a week, mostly 30/45 minute sessions, and several hour long sessions in addition to my group classes.   I specialize in advanced vocal instruction and talent development.
