Technique can be different for everyone on the guitar but approaching the fundamentals of it are important. Sight reading and learning music is similar to technique in the sense that it is all about how you learn the fundamentals in the beginning. As mentioned previously, I will encourage students to have a practice journal that tracks many aspects of progress. This, combined with gauging each student's skill level and needs, is the basis of my teaching style. I never use negative incentives with my students, as I believe that does more harm than good. I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2011 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Electronic Production and Design. Following my graduation, I began working in the Boston area as a freelance session bassist and educator. I cater my teaching style to each student's age, skill level and personality. I have a patient, relaxed teaching style but I'm always ready and willing to push the student as far as they want to go, encouraging them to try their best.
