I believe wholeheartedly that music is supposed to be fun and I have every intention of keeping it that way as an instructor. That isn't to say that learning the guitar is easy. Unfortunately, for most of us it just isn't. However, I do believe that the best way to approach the guitar is recognizing that 1) You're never done learning and 2) That's a good thing. During my graduate work I taught voice lessons both through the department of music and through the community music program ACMS. My voice students ranged from young beginning singers just learning the basics of singing to seniors in undergrad preparing large roles. At the start of my junior year of high school, I began teaching piano to a handful of students in my small town. It was such an exciting experience! I taught a few very young students whose moms wanted them to try out the instrument and learn some fundamentals, and I taught a few older students who just wanted to know how to play some of their favorite songs.
