In 2010, I graduated from VanderCook College of Music with a Bachelor's in Music Education. I have played in a variety of instrumental ensembles on different instruments, from euphonium, trombone, marimba and drum-set to name a few. I am motivated to helping people accomplish their goal of learning their instrument. I believe every student pursues music for a different reason, so I approach every student with a custom curriculum. For all students I stress the importance of scales, arpeggios, ear training and scale patterns (3rds, 4ths, etc) to improve technical facility from the beginning. For beginners I typically use the Rubank Edute book to begin reading music. All students are introduced to 'Top Tones for the Saxophone' by Rascher early on to improve range, intonation, breath support and tone quality. Read More

I started teaching while in college in Mexico at Gaia Elementary School in Mexico City. Now residing in the United States, I accepted the position of the Music Teacher in an after school program at Carson Elementary School in  Carson, California.  I became a full time guitar teacher at the Escuela de Musica Cristiana (teaching Contemporary Christian Music ) in Hollywood, California. Going back to my first drum lesson takes us back 8 years into the year of 2012. I started teaching lessons as a casual event in my basement to local kids in my neighborhood. While this was taking place, I was not asking for any money whatsoever. Eventually, I started to build a community of well rounded musicians that were attaining success in my studio. I have been teaching piano for over twenty years and love seeing the progress in my students! I teach all ages, the youngest being 3 years, the oldest being 75. I teach all types of learners from typical to prodigies, and children with developmental disorders such as ADD, Dyslexia and autism, even cerebral palsy. I stress knowing scales, chords, inversions like the back of your hand to enable you to put them together just as we put the English language together. Letters become words which become sentences which become paragraphs which become stories. Keys become scales which build chords which build progressions which build phrases which build songs.
