When it comes to guitar and bass, it depends mostly on whether the student is interested in learning songs, or becoming a well rounded musician. Since then I've advanced my studies through high school and college by playing in all sorts of bands and genres. Since each student is different and responds differently to any variety of instruction methods, it’s important for me to be flexible and find the right one for the student. For kids, keeping the material light enough to understand while being challenging and engaging is important.
