Since 2006, I have been consistantly teaching students in my home studio as well as in several music schools. I taught novices as well as professional actors. I began my teaching career as a teenager with beginning piano students in my home. I continued to teach part-time throughout university, adding voice to the mix, and have taught full time off and on since then between singing engagements, mothering my children and working. I have taught at the Elementary/Middle School level in a private after-school program in NYC, at Westminster Choir College in NJ for a year and began teaching on Long Island in recent years since my move to Centereach, NY. I will ask my students to try rigorous exercizes but I will do so in a manner that is fun and rewarding, not exhausting. Since I was in high school, I have been very passionate about teaching violinists and violists of all ages and levels. I began playing at the age of four studying the Suzuki Method and mainly use the Suzuki Method to guide my teaching. In my piano teaching I have devoted time in collecting pieces for all levels and abilities. I believe students should learn from a piece of music rather than a book of sterile excersices. As such, I am a great supporter of those pieces written for children by composers. One example for all is Bartok's Mikrokosmos, where each piece is a migniature composition for children. I have used Bartok's Mikrokosmos for more than 15 years and also made my beginner students write small pieces based on those principles found in Mikrokosmos.To complement this approach I choose pieces from all genre and music styles for more advance students. I participated in several music salons, lectures and performances, as well as presenting myself as a judge for different piano competitions. In May 2017, I received my dual degree in Master of Piano Performance and advance certificate of Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy. At the same time, I was engaged in different music Performances within and around New York City, including a collaboration project with the Carnegie educational team as well as a collaborated six-sided keyboard performance with the famous music producer/ composer, Mark Mothersbaugh, at the Skirball center.
