I have been teaching students of all ages since 2010. I have been teaching both in my home studio and at the students home, I have also taught in Public Schools and in Music stores. My goal as a teacher is to get students excited about music and have them looking forward to our lessons together and inspire them to learn more and practice. The Trumpet is my main instrument but as a certified Music Educator I'm comfortable and highly qualified to teach many different instruments such as all of the Brass Instruments ( Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, French horn, Euphonium, Flugelhorn etc) and all of the Reed instruments (Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute) as well as Piano and Voice. Instruments: Voice
I start with the basics on any level of singer just to get a feel for their voice. For children I like to utilize a lot of imagery to go along with making sounds first and then worrying about the correctness later. Training the ear in singing is very important and also learning about the body in terms of singing is key. I have a set regimen of warm ups for both men and women than I alternate depending on the students age and skill level. Read More

My teaching style is, "teaching to enable reaching". Growing up, there was a specific way of learning that got me to understand the lessons being taught to me. I believe in learning the student's methods, before teaching the student what may not work for them. I individualize what needs to be taught, even when teaching in a group atmosphere. Read More
Instruments: Trombone
I am a motivated instruction who loves passing on to students the enjoyment of music and the skills neccessary to perform. I have been bass trombonist with the National Orchestra in Lima, Peru; and I am currently bass trombonist in the World Civic Orchestra, the American Chamber Orchestra, the St. Thomas Orchestra and the Collegium Westchester; as well as several Swing Big Bands, including the Sonny Caroll Orchestra, and the Fairfield Counts. I want my students to succeed, but also make the lessons enjoyable for them. Each student progresses by how much they practice, and their focus during the lessons. I believe that each student progresses at their own pace, and each student should be evaluated for the best method of improvement. I believe in positive reinforcement. Making students aware of their progress is important for self motivation, which I think is essential to learning an instrument. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I use the score to pose questions about the way musical material is organized, how it reflects the composer’s ideas, and what makes the score coherent to the player and the listener. In this way, a score is one point of focus for developing interest and a questioning attitude—practices that will serve students for a lifetime. I believe that our ability to talk about music emerges from the experience of “thinking music” as performers and that we truly learn music by using its grammar. Read More
