For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I grew up in the chicagoland area where my music career started young. I tried many instruments but eventually landed on guitar early in high school which has been my passion ever since. After High School I continued guitar and studied at Elmhurst College near Chicago, while there I performed with many ensembles in a large variety of genres and styles. My teaching style is based on love, patience, kindness and understanding. My priority is to create a safe space for students so that they can express themselves freely and authentically. The most important aspect is to make learning a fun, enjoyable and fulfilling process by understanding the student and listening to what they want to accomplish. Every student progresses at their own rate and it's important to give students attainable short-term goals in the service of long-term achievements. What’s important is to strike a balance of activities that works for the student, engaging their desire to learn while giving them the structure necessary for success. In May 2014, I graduated from the Baldwin Wallace conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance. Since graduation, I have performed with multiple orchestras such as the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (Ohio), Richmond Symphony Orchestra (Indiana), the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, the Ohio Valley Symphony, and the Middletown Symphony (Ohio).
