I plan every lesson differently based on the student. I first like to see what the students interests are as well as what goals they have in mind that they would like to achieve. For drummers and percussionists, I like to work out of the books, Stick Control and the Alfred method books because I believe that they develop the best technique. Hi there! I'm a dedicated and passionate violinist, teacher and all-around music enjoyer living in the Rochester area. I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia and have enjoyed a 10-year career so far teaching in classrooms and in the studio. Although my main job is now editing, I am happiest when playing in ensembles. For beginning children, I typically like to use the Alfred series of beginner books depending on the instrument. I also like the students to rely on their ears just as equally, so the other half of the lesson is usually dedicated to learning music without relying on reading music.
