My curriculum varies depending on what instrument and style the student is learning. For orchestral string instruments I use the Suzuki method books but also others. The Simandl book for bassist is an amazing resource as well. Modern Reading Text by Louis Bellson is a great book for improving not only your rhythm reading ability but also sight reading. For guitar it really depends on what the student wants to focus on. Read More

I love seeing my students apply what they’ve learned in their lesson and become passionate about their music education. I am warm and friendly yet still firm and hands on in my approach to teaching so that students are able to enjoy lessons but still know that they are coming to lessons to learn something. I support the student with structuring lessons based off of the needs of the student as well as student/parent goals. Read More

I spend several lessons getting to know the student, what their music interests are, what they have previously learned and then tailor lessons to the individual student. I encourage them to stretch beyond the familiar while providing a very individualistic approach to their lessons. In the very near future, I hope to be able to provide online lessons as well as in my studio or the student's home. Read More

I have been teaching since 2017. I started off with private lessons in St. Augustine, FL, then proceeded to join the Community School of Music at Stetson University as a Student Teacher in 2017. After graduating from Stetson in 2019, I stayed and taught as a Faculty Teacher at the Community School of Music, having more students. During my tenure, I taught students from four to 85 years old. When I went to get my graduate studies, I taught private lessons online and in person. Read More

My first teaching experiences were with my father during solo and ensemble. Having hired me as an accompanist for his students, I found myself rehearsing these students moreso than accompanying them. From that point I felt encouraged to teach and help others perfect their craft. My biggest influences would have to be my past teachers, one of which taught me younger and the other as I matured. I believe that while learning to read and write sheet music, developing technique and feel, and understanding music theory are all important, the most integral part of learning an instrument - as fundamental as it sounds - is to use your ears! I tailor each of my lessons to the needs and desires of each individual. I am fond of using method books such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or Bruce Peterson's Standard of Excellence (or, with school children in a band program, whatever their method book may be), but I also like to bring separate handouts or sheets of exercises, drills, and songs that I have created over the years. I want each lesson to be engaging and fulfilling, and for the student to feel as though they can achieve the tasks set before them for each suceeding lesson. Read More
