I've found the best way to teach is to cater to each student's interest. While early or beginning players may require some fundamental grunt work, there is always a way to assure that it's fun too. Earlier students would need to start learning the basics: rhythm, learning to read, developing technique through scales etc. of which there are many methods. As students mature, I feel the Suzuki method for aspiring classical students is the best route (there are multiple books in this series) along with some other extensive and more challenging works. Each student is different. By monitoring the students' interest, I encourage them to set a goal ofpracticefor the month, and each month that goal time increases little by little. Understanding how to read music and music theory are very important when learning any instrument. Student will be able to play any and all kinds of music if note reading has been taught. Each lesson I set a goal for the following week which is always easy to accomplish with practice. Read More

For my beginner students, who are younger, I start off with the Faber series in the Primer levels. After progressing through the first few levels of the series, I then start to introduce solo repertoire depending on the interests of the student. For my older students, we also go through the Faber Adult Piano Adventures book, where we learn the basics of piano along with some fun pieces. I teach more information outside of the book which is not taught until later to get ahead. Read More

I love seeing my students apply what they’ve learned in their lesson and become passionate about their music education. I am warm and friendly yet still firm and hands on in my approach to teaching so that students are able to enjoy lessons but still know that they are coming to lessons to learn something. I support the student with structuring lessons based off of the needs of the student as well as student/parent goals. Read More

I started teaching about 7 years ago independently. This has grown to me working with multiple companies as a teacher, as well as maintaining my private students. I also work around town in music studios as an audio engineer, so music is my entire life! I have a lot to show my students and help them grow with experience unique to me. I teach all ages, with my current and past students ages ranging from four to sixty three! Read More

I am a passionate and devoted piano teacher with a real love of music and a strong desire to pass my knowledge onto others. I took seven years of piano lessons in grade school and graduated from Florida State College with an Associate of Arts in Music degree. I also played piano in the Charlton County High School Jazz Ensemble and at the United Methodist Church. I love working with children and other adults, and I am looking forward to being able to pass the gift of playing beautiful piano music onto them. Read More
