Once we’ve established where to begin, I’ll ask the student to choose a piece they’d like to perform and I’ll assign them a piece of my own choice as well. We even got invited to play the halftime show of the Hula Bowl college football game in Honolulu, Hawaii. I begin all students with the appropiate level of the Alfred's method. If they have had training with another method, I work to blend that method with the Alfred's method during the first month or two of lessons. Once the student has learned the fundamentals, I introduce them to the solo repertoire appropriate for their level and their genre of greatest interest to them.
