Instruments: Piano Guitar Violin Saxophone Clarinet
I use the Rubank Method for beginning, intermediate, and advanced clarinet and Saxophone. This series emphasizes the simple concepts to the advanced fundamentals, i.e. rhythm, articulation, breath support, fingerings. The lesson plans are incorporated in the Rubank Method with an easy progression through the fundamental starting with whole notes, half notes, quarter notes and simple to complex rhythms. For the advanced clarinet student the Rose 32 Etudes are an essential addition to the lessons as well as the Klose Method. Read More

Instruments: Flute
A flute teacher in Colorado Springs who delights in being a part of my students' musical journeys, I have over forty years' teaching and performing experience in the United States, Germany, and Norway. I have my Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and performed as a part of U.S. Army Bands. Over the years I have taught in music stores, band rooms, community centers, and my home studio. Students have shown accelerated progress in tone, musicianship, and technique; consistently placed in All-County, -District, and -State Honor Bands and Orchestras; been awarded superior ratings in Solo and Ensemble Festivals; and enjoyed the weekly interaction with a trusted adult who listens and genuinely cares about each individual student. Instruments: Saxophone
For beginning students, I always start with the Essential Elements book 1. I have found that the combination of foundational teaching and songs that accompany what was just discussed helps students feel like they are applying what they have learned to something the can show off to people to people around them. Once they move past that, I try to introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for their level. This helps prepare them for future solo recitals. Read More
Instruments: Piano
My preferred book series that I like to use are Piano Adventures, Keith Snell, Alfreds, and Bastien piano books. It all depends on the needs of the individual piano student. Read More
