I've been teaching Guitar since I was an undergrad. I began teaching in public schools in 1985 and have taught Guitar, Band, and Orchestra at the Elementary, Middle and High School level. My main instrument is guitar (classical guitar, folk, rock, blues, jazz, country, pop. etc.); I also play and teach electric bass (rock, jazz, country, etc.) and ukulele (all styles). I have learned that when a student practices a mistake over and over it remains a mistake. I immediately slow the student down and concentrate on just a measure or even two notes to accomplish correct rhythm, fingerings, articulations and phrasing.
