 I love teaching music, and started when I was twenty years old.  From 2005-2006, I studied guitar at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, before a hand injury forced me to move back to the Chicagoland area.  In 2009, I graduated from Prairie State College with a Liberal Arts Degree. I took music theory classes and 1 year of jazz band at Prairie State.  I graduated from Columbia College in 2015. I achieved a Bachelor of Music degree, with a focus in classical guitar performance. I started violin at the age of 10 in the Homewood public school system and it has been with me ever since. I am now an Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Alumn and have a Bachelor's in Music with a degree in Violin Performance. I studied all four years with Mimi Zweig and worked for a year at the Fairview Elementary School as a part of the Violin Project. In 2016, I had the opportunity to perform with the Teng Virtuosi in Cebu, Philippines in collaboration with the El Sistemang Philipino. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school years, 8 years ago, when I was a section leader for my marching band and I got to teach marching routines and lead sectionals for my section. Later, at my undergraduate degree, I got hired at three different middle and high schools to teach private lessons and give master classes. I have teaching experience in several areas of music. In addition to directing middle school and high school bands in the public school setting, I have also taught music appreciation (both middle and high school level), kindergarten music, and philosophy courses to college undergrads.
