My mission is to help each student create a healthy sound rooted in the body, which, coupled with a solid breathing technique, creates an easy, effortless and dynamic tone. From the very first lesson, I teach a fudamental warm-up that addresses the physical, breathing and vocal, and which the student can use for the rest of their singing career. Once that's in place, I spend the remaining time tailoring the lesson itself to the individual student's needs; this may be focusing on breathing one day, while focusing on resonating the next. I have been teaching piano since 1998. I have taught in both private studios as well as a lot of group piano lessons. My students have varied greatly in interest levels from college bound piano majors to adults who just want to improve their playing, and learn something new while having fun, as well as many children who start because their parents want them too, but end up sticking around because they enjoy it. Each student should set their own goals, with the help of their parents and/or teacher, to have a clear path of what they want to achieve. Auditioning for various opportunities and participating in competitions is highly encouraged. I have been playing drums for over 40 years, it is truly my passion. I have performed in several bands over the years with a main focus on the rock genre. I did play for two seasons with a local jazz band as well. I consider myself to be versatile as far as music styles, however, my main experience is with rock drumming.
