Hello! While playing music is one of my favorite thing in the world, it doesn't seem to compare to teaching others how to make music. I'm a University of Michigan student who loves producing and jamming out. I started my musical career at age 10 with the cello, but pretty quickly changed to the piano. My formal education is lacking, but I've spent the last 12 years learning theory and performance through books, articles, and lots and lots of trial and error. Read More

For beginner Piano / Keyboard Students, I use the Bastien Books. They are simple to understand and get the Student through the first few stages of Right Hand Left Hand coordination and positions. I have several different books for Saxophone Students that feature technique, solo repertoire and duets. Depending on whether the student is a child, a teenager or an adult, I choose either a Daisy Guitar Book, Hal Leonard books, or the Berkeley School of Music for Guitarists. Read More

I've taught lessons on and off for four years now! I took private lessons for years and I taught lessons in high school to other students! Regular lessons were an essential part for me when I was learning how to play flute and to continue to help me develop and grow! I believe that anyone can play an instrument, no matter what their age is! I believe that doing not only scales and warm-up's but to also incorporate new, recent music that the student enjoys will help them improve and continue to enjoy lessons! Read More

I have a dynamic and flexible teaching style and personality. It’s important for me to assess what kind of learner and individual each of my students is, and that informs how I form my lessons. I prefer to set goals for my students based on what they would like to achieve, and what inspires them to want to continue their musical studies. My broad base of knowledge can offer a complete understanding of the art and science of music. Read More

I like to teach at your pace. If you want me to teach you songs, we can learn tabs and chords. Also, I can teach fundamental music theory which includes things like scales so you can solo on your guitar in certain keys of the song. The theory will also tell you which chords you can play, so if someone says play in G minor, you know what notes are the right ones to play. Read More
