I've taught in New York City, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma since 2009. In New York City, I teach theatre technique at a musical theatre school. In Los Angeles, I teach Alba Technique at an Actor's Workshop. In Oklahoma, working with children, I've taught ages 6-adult, directing musical and theatrical productions like Grease, Les Miserables, Much Ado About Nothing, and The War of the Worlds. If a younger student aspires to play in school bands, this knowledge will equip him or her to this end and place the student ahead of his or her peers. For beginning piano students I typically use the Alfred Method. Once the student demonstrates a grasp of the fundamentals I introduce solo repertoire. For adults I typically use the John Thompson Adult Piano Course and we work together to find the solo repertoire. For voice lessons, I typically teach the bel canto style. I will work with vocalises that help develop breath control, placement and open vowels.
