As an educator my goal and ambition isn't necessarily to develop future professional musicians. (although I'm happy to do so) For me the more important and rewarding factor is assisting in growing a flame of a passion, love understanding of music performance into a wild fire! The bulk of my experience comes from eleven years of performance, in which I have been exposed to the vast majority of flute literature, ranging from standard solo repertoire, to chamber music (flute ensemble/woodwind quintet/flute quartets), to orchestra masterpieces, and to broadway pit orchestras. As a teacher, I like to focus on each students needs as becoming a well rounded musician.  I like to work from a few method books including Arbans, Rubank, and Schlossberg for building up your embouchere as a trumpet player.  We will focus in on technique, embouchere building, jazz improvisation, and music theory. I use all types of books including Syncopation, Stick Control, New Breed, Advanced Funk Studies. Also I like to use other media where possible to teach different styles. Once the beginning student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce more musical applications related to real music. Preferably music the student is interested to learn to play. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

After my students learn basic piano skills, I let them select repertoire they are interested in playing, from genres such as;Pop, Rock, Jazz etc. I introduce composition work, basic music theory, and music history. My teaching style is fun and engaging. Music has to be a pleasure, both to perform and learn. In my classes even exercises are fun, interesting and stimulating; they're not just some boring tasks, but rather something that the student is actively interested in practicing and learning.
