I do not provide a strict curriculum. Instead, I form lessons based on student's needs as I feel this is more effective and more personalized. Things that we may explore include; warm-ups, posture, breathing techniques, tongue twisters, learning to read notation, and rhythm. For example, if I have a student who is taking baritone saxophone lessons, then I will have a baritone saxophone with me. Admittedly, I wasn't entirely sure how to take on such a job, but soon discovered that it was something that came naturally to me, and something I enjoyed doing. I have taught students of varying levels, from a complete beginner unable to read any music, to someone who was able to sightread proficiently.
