My passion for teaching began in my Junior year of high school in 2011-2012, when I spent 6 months teaching guitar lessons to elementary school students at a local YMCA after-school program. With a class size of approximately 10-15 students, I learned many valuable teaching methods for students of all backgrounds and learning methods. Later that year, I said goodbye to my students to move to Boston and attend Berklee College of Music, however, in summer of 2014, I revived my passion for teaching when I started a saxophone lesson program at Brighton's All 'Bout Christ church. Hello, and thanks for reading about me! I recently graduated from New England Conservatory with a BM in Jazz Studies. Next Fall I will be pursuing a Master's degree from the Conservatory on a full merit based scholarship. I play lead, jazz, classical, and all sorts of pop music. It was because of this grant that I was able to attend the Boston University Tanglewood Institute for Saxophone Performance, where I took lessons and studied with some of the North Shore's greatest saxophonists, such as Ken Radnofsky and Jennifer Bill. For several years in a row, I have attended the Massachusetts Music Educators Association conference and took a variety of different masterclasses centered around education and musicianship. In the future, I would like to return to college to get a Master's Degree in Music Education, and continue to take inspiration from the music educators before me. Read More
