Second, I like to cater the lessons to the student's particular interest, whether preparing solo pieces, practicing theory through ear training and sight reading, or writing compositions. For many people, singing is all about having the confidence to try. I encourage all my students to sing out and not be afraid to make mistakes. I emphasize strengths and am always quick to point out the smallest of victories. Learning to sing is about consistency and knowing you're a work in progress. Even the most accomplished of singers are still learning and growing. I think the best sound comes from a relaxed and comfortable body, which is why I incorporate work on posture and movement to make sure you are uninhibited by body tension or stiffness. Read More

From there, I began teaching as the percussion instructor at the same school during the beginning of my freshman year of college, lasting for the next 7 years after that. I'd also like to add that one of my former students from the same school is now the percussion instructor there.
