Hello my name is Luiggi and I’m a musician as well as music educator. I have played in several different groups ranging from styles such as rock, jazz, funk, blues, and hip hop. I have also composed my own music and I like to produce instrumentals. My main instrument is guitar but I also teach bass. As a teacher I have experience teaching young children, and young adults. I began teaching in high school, working with elementary and middle school students. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for helping others discover music. In my first full-time teaching position, I was able to to lead the Greenland (AR) High School band to the ASBOA Sweepstakes Award, the highest honor for a school band in that state. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce a solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in depending on the ability level. I would also start with books for adult beginners if needed. I am a flutist and music teacher who recently moved to western Washington. I leads masterclasses, adjudicates competitions and auditions, and perform throughout the community, and have played Flute and Piccolo with the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra since 2019. I earned my Master of Music degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Music at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
