I was born in Newark New Jersey in 1948 and began a life long love affair with the Trumpet at the age of three and a half years old. By the age of twelve I was performing in local clubs and was exposed early on to Newark Jazz greats such as Sarah Vaughn, Wayne Shorter, Woody Shaw and Larry Young. I have been teaching for a little over a year now. My students range from ages 8 to almost 60. I specialize in helping beginners and intermediate drummers. I truly enjoy watching a musician accomplish something that they may not have thought was possible. I have so much fun playing the drums. It's of utmost importance to me that my students experience that same joy! For beginners students, I start with Trevor Wye's Beginners Book for Flute, as well as Rubank's selected duets (Volume 1), and Marcel Moyse The Debutante Flutist. Once we have covered the basic foundations of the flute and have formed a core sound, I then introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for the students.
