I began studying the piano when I was eight years old, and was privileged to become the church pianist at fourteen. As a lifelong student of music I have a lengthy music education, including studying the piano at the Birmingham Southern University Conservatory of Music. My experience with vocal coaching started when I was a young girl helping to teach my church's choir parts for songs we had to learn. Once I went to college I joined the Gospel Chorale at Virginia State University where I helped guide the alto section for a month long European Christmas tour. I love playing the flute and being able to share my passion with others. I earned my BM in 2007 from Florida State University. There were so many wonderful playing opportunities here and as an undergraduate I was playing in the top orchestra. I was also a member of the world renown Marching CHIEFS where I served as section leader to 50 plus flute players. One of the more unique ensembles I played in was the Andean music ensemble, Aconcagua, where I played the zampona (panpipes) and the quena (Andean flute). Read More
