Instruments: Drums Mallet Percussion Orchestral Percussion
I have been teaching for nearly as long as I've been playing. In 2017, I graduated Mansfield University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Business while focusing on Percussion. Though I began playing drum set at the age of 5, I've grown to perform and teach in all areas of percussion. I have been fortunate enough to tour the east coast with various bands and have performed in notable venues such as The Orpheum Theatre in Boston, the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach SC, Sloppy Joe's in Key West FL, and Carnegie Hall. Instruments: Piano Keyboard
While teaching to read music is at the core of my approach, I also encourage my students to improvise, play popular songs by ear, and follow chord charts. I regularly offer student recitals, providing an opportunity for a group experience, peer feedback, and growth in self-confidence at the instrument. My lessons are fun, and I like to mix things up by giving my students both serious and fun pieces to work on. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Keyboard
For a typical lesson Ill teach half basics and theory and the other half songs or anything the students interested in. I am adamant that the student's are practicing at least 30 mins a day. For guitar I strongly recommend using Hal Leonards Guitar method books even if were only working out of it for a quarter of the lesson. For piano I recommend a Hal Leonard book without question. I do pass some handouts of pieces, exercises, etc that I feel are worthy for the student. Read More
Instruments: Violin Cello Viola Ukulele
Everything depends on what instrument the student is learning. For violin, viola, and cello lessons I typically use a few different method books and handout sheets for the first few lessons, and then switch to using Suzuki books once the basic concepts have been mastered. For ukulele students I try to find out what the student is interested and tailor their lessons to include the types of songs they want to learn to play. Read More

I really just want people to enjoy what their doing. I definitely have some skills to efficiently practice, because I dont think anyone wants to waste time. The best thing is when my students are invested in their own progress, because I can help provide the needed skills to grow at different paces. I am a bit more relaxed with students that just want to have a positive musical experience, but I also can be very specific with students that wish to go on and study or perform music professionally. Instruments: Piano Voice
For beginning piano students who are children, I usually begin with Alfred's Basic Piano Library or James Bastien. Once the student has grasped a good level of fundamentals, I begin to introduce level appropriate solo repertoire pieces not only of my choosing, but of the students choosing as well. For adults, I allow the student to guide by interests. If an adult student is interested in learning to read, then I begin with Alfred's Adult All-in-one Course: Lesson, Theory, Teaching. Read More
