My experience started when I was 7 years old. At 12, I graduated from classical guitar school and started to perform concerts at various events in my hometown. At 15 I heard rock music and that became my passion to this day. Then I started playing in different rock and metal bands. I started composing my own music. In 2011 I founded a music school for rock guitarists. Dennis H. was employed at the historic Marshall Field’s store in Chicago as a piano and keyboard salesman. He attended the Kircher Technical Training Institute in Oak Park, where he acquired certificates in piano tuning and string repair. In 2003, he began operating a piano technician business, Northern Strings Piano Services, located in Racine. His ongoing projects include rebuilding and refinishing pianos for clients from Chicago to Milwaukee. Dennis has been teaching piano since 2001, beginning in Grayslake, and expanding into Kenosha in 2004.  A number of his students have participated in the annual National Guild Piano Playing Auditions, receiving Superior ratings. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I begin teaching private lessons leading flute choirs. I have been consistently teaching students in my home or their homes for the last 6 years. I encourage regular practice as this tends to help the student progress in their instrument talent. I first started teaching piano and flute/piccolo back when I was in high school. When I started, I mainly focused on helping my fellow students prepare for performances and competitions. When I was in college, I was offered a temporary teaching position to teach piano at Allegro Music Academy (Lemont, IL) and I was able to work with children of all ages and playing levels.
